Earlier on I mentioned the website - when I first heard about the donation it was in the context of "multimedia" and I'd definitely view the website as multimedia. To use it properly we need to not just view as "oh, this is just an extra something we do because we think it's a good idea" but really look in to how to use it properly.

For instance, if we use pictures of people (again - like the ice-skating) in church on Sunday - put it on the website. Or we could re-size any videos we use to make them smaller so people can download them and view them at home. Maybe have mp3's of sermons, pictures of members, discussion forums about churchy stuff where people can have their say - "Coffee with Sarah" where she gets to write about what's happening in youth ministry - things like that. The internet is very nearly everywhere and I think we need to stay ahead of that.

I see that www.stluke.co.za gives a nasty error message on the front page - can we put up something small there (like a picture of the church, contact details and a "this website will be reading on March 1st")? I would also note that the domain name has caused some confusion with people - because we all know we go to "St Lukes" but the domain name is "stluke." I understand that stlukes.co.za is taken - but the "co" in "co.za" actually means "commercial" - so it would be something you'd expect a company to register. "org.za" means "non-profit organisation" - plus registering an "org.za" is free if you can prove you're a non-profit organisation. So I would recommend we register "stlukes.org.za" as our website/email domain name.
