Leaving church

Sunday night was my last church service at a church which I've come to love and be a part of the community: St Luke's. I've been there for quite a few years, joining the worship team, preaching once (and only once!), been elected to church council (my last meeting tonight - hooray!), helping out at One Life (the teenagers) Sunday mornings and camps...and generally having my faith in God and church restored after quite a knock. And I'm leaving. Not because of anything wrong with me, or with the church - and I'm not leaving out of conflict with anyone or because I think I could do better. It's more complex that that. Over the next few weeks I'll begin writing about my journey - why I've chosen this course of action - and why I'm not heading to another church. I'm leaving church...and it's the right thing to do.
