A Jewish man:

"I grew up in small town in Indiana. We were the only Jewish family surrounded by Christians. It was a terrible way to grow up. We were never accepted; we were always outsiders. The only contact beyond superficialities was when some of the fundamentalists would tell me I was going to hell; they hoped to convert me. Obviously, they had the opposite effect. I travel a lot, and wherever I go, it seems that Christians are creating in-groups and putting everyone else in out-groups. Of course the Holocaust is the most extreme example of that. ItÌs too bad really, because I've studied Jesus, and I think He was a great Jewish prophet, maybe the greatest who ever lived. But Christianity and Jesus don't seem to have too much in common, as far as I can see."

Christianity has never been the answer: Jesus has. Christianity is merely the dominant cultures, often warped, response to the answer. Have we ever taken a moment to look at what we as arrogant western Christians are showing the world? We have butchered thousands in the name of Christ during the crusades on Jerusalem. We have killed millions of innocents in the name of Christ throughout the Holocaust. Why when Jesus forgave them on the cross did we think it was our job to massacre a 'forgiven' race? Just an example of Jesus being the example and us being the warped response to the answer. But thatÌs not us today hey? No? Today Christians are people who try to control the world and when thee is some spit of land somewhere where they don't have their grubby capitalist fingers there will invent some excuse to go over and kill and whole bunch of people and insert a bunch of there own choice into leadership. We have turned 9/11 into a religious war! If I knew nothing of Jesus and saw the evil that has been done in the name of Christ I think I may have been on those planes to fight against Christians who have become the scourge of our world. ItÌs why I say again... I follow Jesus as best I can; not the system we have come to call Christianity! We only have to take a brief look at the way Jesus spoke about and treated 'outsiders' and the way we do the same today. Jesus never belittled anyone and also never forced Himself on anyone... He simply lived among them, spoke about the truth and let them make up their own minds. Today, Christians are too often heard mocking other religions or speaking about them in condescending tones; 'its a shame how deceived they all are!' Have you ever taken a look at yourself and asked the same question? Do you really believe your western brand of Christianity is the truth? Jesus is the Truth! So often we speak as if the two are the same! They are often not!!
